Disclaimer: I received an Justin's as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!
Emir and I have long enjoyed te deliciousness of Justin's before they partnered with Bibrave to send us Pros some goodies to try.   Don't get me wrong we enjoy our beers and the occasional splurging when we go out to eat, but in our every day eating, we are trying to be smart and healthy.  It's this quest that led us to Justin's.  A nutty spread is especially necessary in a house with kids but just as necessary in a house of ultra runners.  We often fuel up before a long run with a nutty sandwich.  It packs the calories and protein we need to give us that energy for our runs.  We ended up switching from some other nutty spreads to Justin's because of the all natural ingredients, we know it's a healthier product in general.  It also doesn't hurt that the taste is outstanding.

Prior to my BibRave care package of Justin's, I had only had the Chocolate Hazelnut butter.  Now I've had the chance to sample the Maple Almond Butter and classic almond butter.  All three flavors are full of such rich, nutty goodness.  I'll eat it on bread, pancakes, bananas and just by the spoonful.  The other benefit of Justin's as opposed to some other spreads is that they are available in the small squeeze pouches.  Yes this is convenient for me as a mom to just squeeze one out onto some bread and in literally 1 second I have a meal for the kids or to take a couple of pouches with us on the go.  That in itself is amazing but this makes my ultra runner self even more excited.  The little pouches are perfect fuels for ultras.  I packed a few for my most recent 50K.  They are very easy to open while on the run and squeeze the yumminess right into my mouth.  As far as calories and fuel definitely a step above the gels and tastes WAY better.

  1. This looks really tasty. I may have to give it a try sometime.

  2. LOVE Justins! I haven't tried all of the flavors yet but I think next up is hazelnut for me. :)
